2024, the year of national elections, is heating up. Indians selected Narenda Modi for a third term, and in Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum made history as the country’s first female president. Next up is the UK, with a July 4th general election. And in the US it feels like the presidential campaign truly got going last week with the Trump NY trial verdict.
This newsletter will stay out of the political fray - not our thing. But we saw a parallel between the reaction to the Trump court case and AI developments; two people can look at the same issue and come to wildly different, and very emotional, conclusions.
For example, will GenAI usher in the next Industrial Revolution or is it just more Silicon Valley-led hyperbole? Enhance our jobs or take them? Distribute power more fairly or concentrate it further? Provide transparency or take misinformation to a whole new level?
The answer to all these questions is “Yes.” But the insight, and value for you, is the nuance as things continue to unfold.
