The emperor’s new clothes
“There's a brand new talk, but it's not very clear…ooh bop…Fashion”
What’s the most fashionable industry these days—music, film, cars or, well, fashion itself? Nope. It’s IT.
Agentic AI is the new black—and suddenly, every major IT vendor is rushing onto the runway. Just this past week, Nvidia, Oracle, Adobe, Accenture, and Deloitte unveiled their latest collections of enterprise agents, each more confident than the last. They’re hot on the heels of Salesforce, HubSpot, ServiceNow, and SAP, who recently made their own splashy debuts.

I vividly remember when EDS and CSC went “all in” on the internet, just as Nokia and Motorola did with mobile—only to be swept aside as new entrants emerged with business models and offerings better suited to the moment.
Thus, the excited pronouncements of a lot of these firms won’t age well. Many should simply adhere to the Spandex rule in fashion: Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
And one more thing…
