Whether you do or not, this September is already hopping with notable AI announcements. The first three stories below (finally) provide empiricism on software's ability to write code and what that means for the estimated 28 million developers worldwide. GitHub Copilot, the current market leader in code generation, lives up to its name by enhancing programmers' capabilities, proving to increase productivity by 20% to 30%. This week, Replit Agent arrived to great fanfare as a tangible example of not just enhancing, but potentially replacing developers. 

Things at the intersection of AI and work are getting real.

Finally, some concrete data on the subject, as researchers at MIT, Princeton and Penn review the impact of GitHub Copilot across nearly 5,000 developers.  

Similarly, TCS claims AI shortens software product development cycles by 20%
